Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Self Employed Courier and take charge of delivering packages efficiently and reliably across your designated area. This role offers flexibility, independence, and the opportunity to be your own boss while ensuring timely deliveries that keep our customers satisfied. As a courier, you'll be the friendly face of our service, navigating urban and suburban routes with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your driving expertise and strong communication skills will be essential in providing an exceptional delivery experience every time. Must have use of a van as it is a mixture of packages and some large boxes.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of delivery vehicles, including <PERSON> driver vehicles, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and safety standards
- Pick up, load, and deliver parcels to residential and commercial addresses with precision and care
- Manage delivery routes efficiently to maximize productivity and meet scheduled timeframes
- Communicate clearly with customers upon delivery, providing excellent service and addressing any questions or concerns
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and heavy lifting when handling packages
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, including proof of delivery documentation and route logs
- Collaborate with warehouse teams for parcel pickup and return procedures when necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles with a strong safety record
- Valid driver’s license suitable for <PERSON> driver classifications or equivalent licensing requirements
- Experience in warehouse operations or handling heavy lifting tasks preferred
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Ability to navigate urban routes using GPS or maps efficiently
- Physical stamina to lift heavy packages and perform repetitive loading/unloading tasks
- Reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage for self-employment status
