Workshop/Service Manager
We have an exciting new opportunity in our dynamic and growing business based in Warton, Tamworth.
Swinnerton Machinery is a market leader and specialist in the repair, reconditioning and replacement of agricultural transmissions. The business also offers engine repair & rebuild and general agricultural machinery maintenance, with a client base covering the UK & Ireland.
In addition to the workshop, the business is involved in the sale of agricultural machinery, transmission units and spare parts within the industry. The business runs a small haulage fleet to service agricultural and other markets.
This challenging role of Service Manager involves managing staff and the workload in a busy and demanding workshop.
Summary
Contract: Permanent, Full time 45 hours a week - Additional hours and weekend work required at busy times.
Reports to: Directors
Salary dependant on experience: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum
20 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Your job role will be based at the facility in Warton
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Plan and organise the scheduling of incoming jobs.
- Plan and allocate the workload, ensuring jobs are completed in an efficient and timely manner to a high quality.
- Organise, lead and mentor the team of engineers to ensure their time is used efficiently.
- Work with the Parts Manager on the parts requirements and priorities for each job.
- Work with the team to ensure the time and parts are allocated to each job correctly.
- Sign off completed jobs ready for invoice to the customer.
- Along with the company directors, communicate with customers on progress and job completion.
- Ensure workshop Health and Safety procedures are met and kept up to date.
- Manage the workshops to provide a clean, tidy, and safe environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Essential requirements for the role:
- Self-motivated and able to drive the team forward.
- Strong organisational skills and able to use modern IT.
- Strong and confident staff management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and customers.
- A strong mechanical knowledge of Agricultural or Plant machinery would be an advantage.
