Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging dance lessons across various styles suited to different age groups and skill levels
- Create a positive, motivating environment that encourages students to explore their movement potential
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support growth
- Prepare students for performances, competitions, or recitals by developing practice routines and choreography
- Maintain a safe dance environment by ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety guidelines
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to organize events, workshops, or community outreach programs
- Keep accurate attendance records, lesson plans, and progress reports for each student
Qualifications
- Proven experience teaching dance in a classroom or studio setting with a strong portfolio of choreography or performance work
- Deep knowledge of multiple dance styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, or tap
- Excellent communication skills to motivate and connect with students of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to demonstrate technical skills clearly while fostering a fun and inclusive atmosphere
- Flexibility to adapt lessons based on student needs and skill levels
- Certification in dance instruction or related fields is preferred but not required; relevant experience is essential
- Passion for dance education and a commitment to inspiring others through movement
- Ideally ISTD / RAD qualified
