We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Prep Assistant to join our team, specializing in early-morning food production and kitchen operations. You will play a vital role in our culinary process, with a primary focus on creating our signature sauces and preparing base ingredients. Responsibilities
- Specialized Prep: Assist with meal preparation and food assembly, with a core focus on blending, cooking, and preparing signature sauces and marinades.
- Early Morning Execution: Efficiently manage tasks during Early AM starts to ensure the kitchen is fully stocked for daily service.
- Ingredient Processing: Prepare raw ingredients—including precise chopping, peeling, and measuring—to facilitate efficient cooking processes.
- Cleanliness & Standards: Support kitchen staff in maintaining the highest levels of organization and cleanliness in work areas.
- Food Safety: Strictly adhere to food safety protocols, including proper labelling, temperature control, and FIFO (First In, First Out) storage.
- Inventory Support: Monitor stock levels of prep items and notify management of any shortages to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Team Collaboration: Support the wider team during busy periods or catering events, including plating and assembly when required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Reliability: Ability to consistently commit to Early AM shifts.
- Culinary Foundation: Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
- Precision: Strong ability to follow recipes precisely, particularly when measuring ingredients for sauces.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of meal preparation and food safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene is a plus).
- Efficiency: Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Communication: A team-oriented attitude with the ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly.
- Physical Stamina: Comfort working in a fast-paced kitchen environment that requires standing for the duration of the shift.
