Overview and Job description:
We are a small, friendly organisation providing high-quality supported accommodation for up to 10 tenants in Cromer who are experiencing mental health issues and or a mild learning disability. Our focus is on empowering people to develop the confidence, skills, and resilience needed to live independently and positively within their local community.
We are now seeking a caring, motivated, and capable Support Worker to join our team
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced care professional or somebody new with a passion for care to step into a caring role within a supportive and values-driven organisation.
Previous experience of working in a care or support setting is preferable though not necessary as full training will be provided. – Strand House promotes further professional development and will support staff to achieve this.
This role will cover days, nights and weekends along with sleep in shift requirements
Your day-to-day role and expectations:
- Provide a safe and stable environment that enables those who use our service to work towards independence
- Providing practical unbiased support and advice to vulnerable adults to promote health, wellbeing and achieving their personal goals
- Independently undertaking the writing of support plans, risk assessments and reviewing these with the tenant
- Accompanying individuals to meetings and appointments
- Undertaking all necessary administration related to providing high quality support, within specific time frames
- Supporting tenants with Cooking, Cleaning and Budgeting skills.
- Excellent time keeping
- Good ability to self-motivate as there will be periods of lone working
- Kind and professional disposition, confidently being able to discuss the clients you work with, with other external professionals.
