We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join a thriving and ambitious English wine business at a defining moment in its journey. Based in the peaceful Hampshire countryside and operating across other sites, the company is helping to shape the future of English wine through high-quality wine production, grower partnerships, own-brand development, technical services, and distinctive hospitality experiences. As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the company's financial management, controls, reporting, and planning activities, while supporting the Board and leadership team in achieving the organisation's strategic objectives. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment and building strong relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading all aspects of financial control, reporting, and compliance.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial planning.
- Delivering accurate and timely monthly and annual financial reporting.
- Embedding robust financial controls, processes, and governance.
- Partnering with the Board and leadership team to support strategic decision-making.
- Managing relationships with auditors, banks, accountants, and other external stakeholders.
- Driving continuous improvement across financial systems and processes.
- Leading and developing the finance team.
What we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller who enjoys working in a growing, entrepreneurial environment and combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.
You will bring:
- ACA, ACCA, ACMA, or CIMA qualified.
- Previous Financial Controller experience.
- Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, SME, or entrepreneurial businesses.
- Strong financial reporting, planning, and business partnering skills.
- Experience with financial systems, including Excel, Xero, ERP, and/or MRP platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
Location: Hybrid, office-based in Crondall (Hampshire) with occasional multi-site travel
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm
