Palatine Primary School is a thriving primary school for pupils with complex learning needs. We currently have 221 pupils aged 5-11 on roll. Premises Assistant
Start date: October 2026
Permanent 24 hours a week 52 weeks a year. (shifts covering operational hours from 7am)
Holiday 5 weeks paid holiday, plus pro-rated Bank Holidays
Salary: Grade 4 –5 based on experience
Actual pro-rated pay- £16857.73-17399.35- Pay award pending
Main Duties
As a Premises Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and security of the school premises. This role is ideal for someone looking to go part time within a facilities role with a desire to provide a safe and welcoming environment within a special needs school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the routine maintenance and repair of the school building and grounds.
- Ensure the security of the premises, including locking and unlocking of buildings.
- Monitor the condition of the school facilities and report any issues.
- Support with health and safety checks and compliance.
- Help set up rooms for school events and activities.
- Act as pool controller in the absence of Premises Manager (STA training provided)
