Qualified electrician looking for a company van, private health cover, and an employer that will not make you miss your kids' sports day? Read on.
We are a family-run electrical contractor based near Malvern, working across hospitals, schools, commercial premises and homes throughout Worcestershire, Herefordshire and the West Midlands. Family-run means two things here: the business is run by a family, and it is built around the idea that work should fit around family life, not the other way round. We are growing, and we need another electrician on the tools.
Newly qualified? Apply anyway. If you hold the qualifications below, we will train and develop you from there, including funded courses such as [2391 Testing and Inspection]. Experienced electricians are equally welcome, and pay will reflect what you bring.
The role
First and second fix, testing and inspection, and maintenance works across domestic, commercial and industrial sites, working both independently and as part of a team. You will be out on the road with a company van. Occasional working away, with accommodation and nightly allowance provided.
What you'll get
- Company van and fuel card
- BUPA private health cover
- Paid training and development
- Genuine flexibility for family life: sports days, school plays, appointments, the emergency school run. Life happens, and we work around it
- Power tools, uniform and PPE provided
- Life insurance (£30k) and personal accident cover (£25k+)
- Company pension
- 29 days holiday including bank holidays
- Team events, fun days and family socials
- A leadership team that genuinely cares
What you'll need
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and AM2
- 18th Edition (BS 7671)
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (we arrange and pay for this)
- A positive attitude and a flexible approach to travel and working hours
That's it. No minimum years of experience. If you are qualified and keen, we want to hear from you.
Who we are
Goodridge Electrical Contractors is a close-knit team of 19, built on doing things properly: quality work, honest dealings, and looking after our people. When we say family-run, we mean it. If your kid's sports day falls on a Tuesday afternoon, we will do our best to make sure you are on the touchline. School plays, parents' evenings, appointments, the odd emergency school pick-up: we flex with life, and all we ask in return is the same flexibility from you when a job needs finishing.
We promote from within, and we hold ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Our team events and fun days include the family, because they are part of this too. You will not be a number here.
