About EPX Technical Services
EPX Technical Services is an award-winning managed service provider based in Staffordshire and the North-West. We deliver IT service desk support, technology solutions and consultancy services to organisations across a wide range of business sectors.
The opportunity
We are looking for a commercially driven Partner Consultant who can build trusted relationships, grow existing accounts and help customers make confident technology decisions. This is not a traditional account management role focused only on renewals and sales. You will combine commercial ownership with a genuinely consultative approach, taking time to understand each customer’s business, challenges, risks and plans before recommending the right next steps.
You will manage the full customer lifecycle and act as the primary strategic contact for your accounts. Success will come from delivering clear advice, creating practical technology roadmaps and translating customer priorities into solutions that produce strong business outcomes, while also achieving agreed revenue and profitability targets.
What you will be responsible for
- Drive sustainable sales growth within existing customer accounts, achieving agreed revenue and profitability targets.
- Build a detailed understanding of each customer’s organisation, operational priorities, technology environment, risks and longer-term goals.
- Lead regular strategic account reviews and consultancy conversations, helping customers understand their current position and agree clear priorities for improvement.
- Develop practical technology plans and account roadmaps that connect EPX services and solutions to measurable customer needs and business outcomes.
- Provide clear, balanced and commercially aware advice, including explaining options, trade-offs, risks and recommended next steps in language appropriate to the customer.
- Act as each customer’s trusted advisor and primary point of contact, balancing long-term partnership, customer value and commercial outcomes.
- Identify, qualify and progress new opportunities through account development, referrals and appropriate outbound engagement.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and consistently forecast work, with a target of 80% forecasting accuracy across monthly and quarterly periods.
- Prepare and deliver onsite or online presentations, business reviews and solution proposals for customer stakeholders.
- Work closely with technical and service teams to shape recommendations, develop proposals and quotes, and respond to RFP and RFI documents.
- Manage contracts, agreements and SLAs to maintain clarity, customer alignment and appropriate commercial performance.
- Monitor account profitability and service fit, raising concerns early and agreeing appropriate corrective action where required.
- Maintain strong knowledge of EPX services and the wider IT landscape so that recommendations remain relevant, credible and useful.
- Build strong, profitable and lasting customer relationships, securing referrals and testimonials where appropriate.
What we are looking for
- A proven track record of achieving sales or commercial targets in a customer-facing role.
- At least 12 months’ experience working in the IT or technology sector, ideally within an MSP, telecoms, cloud, software, cyber security or VoIP environment.
- Experience in account management, customer success, solution sales, business development or a similar consultative role.
- Strong discovery and questioning skills, with the ability to understand business challenges before recommending a solution.
- Commercial awareness and the confidence to identify, develop and close appropriate opportunities.
- The ability to turn technical information into clear advice, recommendations and business value for non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills.
- A proactive, resilient and target-focused mindset, with the organisation to manage several customers and priorities effectively.
- A minimum degree or Level 4 apprenticeship, or equivalent relevant experience.
- A full UK driving licence and regular access to a car for business use.
