Based near Montgomery, Myrick Training Services is the trading name of Mid & North Wales Training Group Ltd, a charity Limited by Guarantee. We provide the funding to deliver; engineering/ manufacturing/ industrial/ Management/ Team Leading/ BIT/ Warehousing apprenticeships to companies. The apprenticeship levels that we deliver range from levels 2 up to level 5, using our team of industry experienced assessors.
We have an excellent record for successfully delivering engineering and management based apprenticeships to companies. We are seeking a Work-Based Learning (WBL) Manager qualified to be responsible for the operational management of WBL, playing a key role in the planning of WBL and apprenticeships in partnership with the other senior management team (SMT) members, under the direction of our Charity Board of Trustee Directors.
**Main duties and responsibilities:**
- To manage provision to ensure compliance with processes.
- To monitor and manage quality and outcomes for learners.
- To be responsible for the awarding body centres and planning for quality visits.
- To contribute to the development and maintenance of links with key stakeholders, partners and employers.
- To maintain and update sector knowledge, including development of apprenticeship frameworks, under direction of the board and in collaboration with other SMT members.
- To manage and support WBL administrative assistant(s).
- To review/update and comply with the requirements of MTS (Myrick Training Services) Policies and Procedures.
- Internally verify Engineering, Management, Essential Skills portfolios, Agored and Qualsafe qualifications. Help to develop new pathways of learning on offer.
- To investigate ways of widening what MTS offer in the apprenticeship sector and beyond.
- To prepare performance reports detailing overall and timely success rates, overdue learners past their expected end date for all contracts for board meetings.
- To attend contract meetings, Impact Review meetings and facilitate quality audits from our prime contract holders.
- To maintain a record of staff’s CPD requirements and outcomes.
- To maintain and record staff holiday entitlements.
- To check and record contractors invoicing, and advise of payments outstanding for early completions.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will contribute to the strategic leadership and governance of the organisation, ensuring alignment with contractual, regulatory, and industry requirements.
- You will be aware of the principles of safeguarding children and young people as they apply to the role within MTS. Actively promote the MTS Safeguarding and PREVENT Policies.
- You will contribute to maintaining Investor in People Standards, including participating in staff development and training schemes.
- You will contribute to the implementation of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy.
**Skills:**
- You will possess A1 and V1. Also Lvl 5 Management or relevant occupational experience.
- You will have strong leadership skills to help guide, motivate, and support our small team, and whilst being able to manage conflict effectively.
- You can communicate clearly, including both expressing ideas and actively listening.
- You are effective at decision-making and problem-solving.
- You have good organisational skills, including time management, project planning, and delegation.
- You have relevant technical and industry-specific knowledge for the WBL Manager role.

Pay: £19.00-£21.00 per hour
