Job Title: Painter and Decorator

Hours: 39 hours per week

This role is based on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa, Ambleside, LA22 9JD.
Role Summary
As part of the Estate Services team, our Painters and Decorators provide a professional, responsive, preventative, and progressive service. You will carry out reactive maintenance, programmed preventative maintenance, emergency response, and planned refurbishment works to the highest standard. You will be the first point of contact for guests and staff regarding physical deficiencies and maintenance tasks throughout Langdale’s full building asset register.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and improve the internal and external decorative finishes of Estate properties and other assets.
Be familiar with the paint store and assist the Maintenance Manager with paint stock management and record keeping.
Routinely inspect decorative finishes.
Respond to job cards as allocated.
Ensure maintenance and safe use of vehicles, tools, and equipment and log as required.
Promote safe working practices and work within Langdale’s Health & Safety policy.
Promote and work within the guidelines of Langdale’s Environment Policy.
Report any fault, accidents, incidents and/or near misses to a manager.
Be responsible for and proactive with fire safety and provide rapid response to fire alarm calls on site when on duty.
Support the team in conducting weekly safety fire alarm tests.
Directly interact with all stake holders that require the departments services, maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
Attend relevant training / refresher training as necessary to maintain role competency and compliance and engage with other learning and development opportunities as required.
Assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining compliance of site assets.
Assist the Maintenance Manager by undertaking any other reasonable work tasks, as required.

Capable of working both independently and as part of a wider team, liaising with other departments when needed
Strong organisational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills, with a motivated and adaptable work ethic
Good communication and customer‑care skills, with a polite and professional manner
Flexible and reliable, able to manage varied duties, changing priorities, extended hours, and variable shift patterns
Holds a full UK driving licence and maintains a tidy, responsible, and professional appearance
