Looking for a rewarding career in Early Years?
At Danesfield Manor School & Nursery, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life—and that starts with passionate, caring people who love helping children learn, grow and thrive.
We're excited to be expanding our nursery provision, making this a fantastic time to join our friendly and supportive team. If you have previous nursery or childcare experience but don't yet hold an Early Years qualification, we'd love to hear from you.
Located in the heart of Walton-on-Thames, Danesfield Manor School is a thriving independent school educating children from 6 months to 11 years. Our nursery provides a warm, nurturing environment where children develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. As part of the Inspired Learning Group, you'll benefit from being part of a wider family of schools and nurseries, with excellent opportunities to learn, develop and progress your career.
What you'll be doing
As an Early Years Assistant, you'll support our experienced practitioners in providing outstanding care and learning experiences for children aged 6 months to 4 years.
You'll:
- Help create a safe, caring and stimulating environment where every child feels happy, secure and valued.
- Support the planning and delivery of fun, engaging activities that encourage children's learning, creativity and development through play.
- Build warm, positive relationships with children, helping them develop confidence, independence and social skills.
- Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, sleep routines, toileting and personal care where appropriate.
- Encourage children's emotional wellbeing through kind, responsive and nurturing interactions.
- Help observe children's interests and achievements, contributing to learning records and supporting their individual development.
- Prepare learning resources and maintain clean, organised and welcoming learning environments.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, supporting the wider nursery team in providing excellent communication.
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing throughout the nursery.
- Take an active part in team meetings, training and professional development opportunities to build your Early Years knowledge and skills.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, childcare or other Early Years setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development.
- A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to learn, develop and build a long-term career in Early Years.
- An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
You do not need a formal Early Years qualification for this role; however, previous nursery or childcare experience and a good understanding of working with young children are essential.
