Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled 360 excavator operator and groundworker to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, primarily the 360-degree excavator, to perform a variety of earth-moving tasks with precision and safety. You will also undertake groundworks essential to the successful completion of construction projects, ensuring that site preparation, excavation, and groundwork activities are executed efficiently and to high standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects while honing your mechanical skills and practical expertise.
Duties
- Operate a 360-degree excavator safely and efficiently across various construction sites, handling tasks such as digging, lifting, and moving materials.
- MUST hold CSCS card.
- Conduct groundworks including trenching, site clearance, and foundation preparation in accordance with project specifications.
- Perform routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with site setup, including the installation of safety barriers and signage to maintain a secure working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to execute excavation plans accurately while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and support maintenance activities.
- Drive commercial vehicles as needed for transporting equipment or materials between sites, maintaining compliance with licensing requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating a 360 excavator in a construction environment, demonstrating safe handling and precision control.
- Mechanical knowledge sufficient to identify basic faults or issues with excavator machinery.
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) or equivalent, with a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols relevant to heavy machinery operation and groundworks.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork on busy construction sites.
