This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to support apprentices in developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for successful careers within the electrical engineering sector. Working closely with employers and apprentices, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality assessment and internal quality assurance activities that support outstanding learner outcomes.
As both an Assessor and IQA, you will be responsible for supporting apprentices throughout their programme, monitoring progress, carrying out workplace assessments and ensuring the quality and consistency of assessment practice across the provision.
You will manage a caseload of apprentices, carrying out workplace assessments, progress reviews and learner support activities to ensure learners remain on track to achieve their qualifications and fulfil their potential.
You will work closely with employers to build strong partnerships, maintain high levels of learner engagement and support the ongoing development of apprenticeship opportunities. You will provide guidance and feedback to learners, maintain accurate records and ensure all activity complies with awarding organisation and contractual requirements.
In addition, you will undertake Internal Quality Assurance activities, supporting quality improvement across the provision and ensuring assessment practice meets awarding organisation standards and requirements.
You will also contribute to the development of learners' literacy, numeracy and digital skills and support the continued growth and success of the College's Work-Based Learning programmes.
You will be an experienced engineering professional with strong occupational competence in electrical engineering and a passion for supporting the development of future talent within the industry.
You will hold a relevant Level 3 technical qualification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent industrial experience within the occupational area being assessed. You will also possess a recognised assessor qualification such as TAQA Level 3, A1, D32/D33 and hold the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.
You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, experience of working towards targets and an ability to build effective relationships with learners, employers and colleagues. You will be confident using digital systems, maintaining accurate records and using performance data to support learner achievement and programme quality.
A flexible and proactive approach is essential, together with a full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and appropriate business insurance, as travel forms an important part of the role. Welsh language skills would be advantageous.
