The Role – Automotive Service Manager
As Service Manager, you will have full responsibility for the performance of the Service Department, overseeing front‑of‑house service operations and workshop productivity. You will lead, motivate and develop a team of Service Advisors, Technicians and Workshop Controllers, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day‑to‑day operation of the Service Department
- Leading, coaching and developing Service Advisors, Technicians and Workshop teams
- Driving workshop efficiency, productivity and profitability, including labour sales and WIP control
- Delivering excellent customer service and improving CSI and retention
- Monitoring KPIs and implementing continuous improvement plans
- Managing warranty processes and manufacturer standards
- Handling escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, company policies and regulatory requirements
About You – Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Service Manager, Aftersales Manager or Workshop Manager within an automotive dealership
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills
- Commercial awareness with a focus on performance, profitability and efficiency
- Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills
- Solid understanding of workshop operations, KPIs and aftersales processes
- Experience working within a franchised or high‑volume automotive environment
- A full UK driving licence
