Join Our Team – Venue Care Assistant (Cleaner and keyholder) Location: Wake House, Bourne
Employer: Bourne Arts and Community Trust
Hours: Average of 12.5 hours per week (evening and late afternoon shifts)
Salary: £12.71 per hour.
Typical Working Hours
- Monday: 3:00pm – 5:30pm
- Tuesday: 7:00pm – 9:30pm
- Wednesday: 7:00pm – 9:30pm
- Thursday: 7:00pm – 9:30pm
- Friday: 3:00pm – 5:30pm
Please note: Flexibility is essential. Hours may vary to meet the needs of the venue, including covering annual leave, sickness, special events and additional bookings. Extra hours may occasionally be available. About the Role Wake House is a busy community venue used by a wide range of local groups, organisations and visitors. We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and proactive Venue Care Assistant to help maintain our high standards and ensure the building remains clean, safe and welcoming. This is much more than a cleaning role. You will become an important member of our team, helping to keep the venue running smoothly and providing reassurance that the building is secure and well cared for during evening hours.
Your Responsibilities You'll be responsible for:
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the building.
- Cleaning meeting rooms, offices, kitchens, toilets and communal areas.
- Ensuring the venue is clean, welcoming and ready for the next day's activities.
- Locking up and securing the building at the end of the day.
- Acting as a keyholder.
- Setting and unsetting security systems where required.
- Carrying out basic building and safety checks.
- Reporting maintenance issues or health and safety concerns.
- Acting as the responsible person on site during your shift, including undertaking Fire Marshal responsibilities.
- Providing reception cover during staff holidays or other absences, welcoming visitors and assisting with enquiries.
- Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of Wake House.

Previous cleaning, customer service or keyholder experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.Training ProvidedThe successful applicant will receive training appropriate to the role, including:

- Building security and lock-up procedures
- Reception procedures
