Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and personable barber to join our team. This role supports a charitable organisation by helping deliver a youth mentorship programme. The programme is designed to guide and develop young people while creating a sustainable pipeline of future talent and ensuring long-term succession within the organisation.
Duties
- Greet clients warmly and ensure they feel comfortable throughout their visit
- Provide professional hair styling and barbering services tailored to individual client preferences
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the work area and tools
- Consult with clients to understand their needs and offer suitable haircare advice
- Manage appointment schedules efficiently, ensuring timely service delivery
- Communicate clearly with clients about service options, aftercare, and product recommendations
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in hair styling and barbering techniques
- Assist in maintaining stock levels of products and tools required for daily operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in customer service within a salon or barbering environment is desirable
- Formal training or certification in hair styling or barbering is preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clients
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism and friendliness at all times
- Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Organised with good time management skills to handle appointments efficiently
- A passion for hairstyling and grooming, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics
