Construction Tutor
Salary: £32,116 - £37,800
Location: Shepherds Bush, with regular travel across London (face-to-face and remote delivery)
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Construction Tutor to deliver engaging training that helps learners achieve Level 1 Construction qualifications and develop the skills and confidence needed to progress into employment or apprenticeships.
You will plan and deliver high-quality classroom and online learning, assess learner progress, provide individual support, and work with employers to create positive progression opportunities. You'll also contribute to curriculum development, maintain accurate learner records, and ensure delivery meets awarding body, funding and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging face-to-face and remote learning sessions.
- Deliver high-quality Construction training and employability support.
- Monitor learner progress, attendance and achievement.
- Assess learners and maintain accurate records.
- Support learners into employment, apprenticeships or further training.
- Develop learning resources and contribute to curriculum improvement.
- Work with employers and internal teams to maximise learner outcomes.
- Meet quality, compliance and contract performance targets.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practice, safeguarding and health & safety.
Skills & Experience
- A Level 3 qualification in a Construction discipline (e.g. Electrical, Plumbing, Joinery, Plastering or similar).
- A recognised teaching qualification (minimum DTLLS or equivalent).
- An assessor qualification (A1, D32/D33 or equivalent).
- Experience delivering Construction training and qualifications up to Level 3.
- Experience delivering funded programmes such as AEB, ASF, Skills Bootcamps or similar.
- Experience supporting learners from a range of backgrounds into employment or further learning.
- The ability to deliver engaging learning both face-to-face and remotely.
- Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
- The ability to motivate, support and inspire learners to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience building effective relationships with employers and key stakeholders.
- Functional Skills qualifications in Maths, English and ICT (or equivalent) are advantageous.
- Current occupational competence within the Construction sector.
- Willingness to travel across London to deliver training.
