Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, with a flair for creativity and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and will cook food to children of nursery.
Responsibilities
- Execute the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare food production processes, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish.
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Develop new menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Qualifications
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate and a catering (good to have but not mandatory)
- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
- Strong culinary skills with extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in kitchen operations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary
Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour
