We are looking for a Fire Alarm Service/Small Works Engineer to assist with scheduled maintenance and repairs throughout the south west area (Devon and Cornwall). The candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience, be self-motivated, well presented, ambitious, organised and have the desire to progress within this growing company. Confidence and excellent verbal and written communication skills are also essential. The candidate should be familiar with good health & safety practices and must be entirely trustworthy. Employment will be subject to successful completion of security vetting.

Holiday – 25 Days plus Bank Holidays. We also shut the company down on before Christmas Eve and re-open in the New Year, with just a share of the call out to be taken. The number of days for this can vary each year.
Working Hours:
Mon-Fri 08:30 to 17:00 (excluding bank holidays) including 30 min lunch break
Call out – 1 weekend in 5 @ £25.00 per day standby, plus OT paid door to door for each call out attended.
Role & Responsibilities:
To attend and undertake scheduled maintenance and any remedial works needed of fire alarm and emergency lighting throughout the south west area to include:
Routine inspections in accordance with current British Standard recommendations including completion of company documentation (including electronic documents) and identification of any non-conformities / variations where applicable.
Un-scheduled site attendances (corrective calls) to diagnose and rectify faults. A ‘first time fix’ approach should be adopted in order to minimise the need for return visits.
Completion of small works projects such as panel changes or the addition of equipment to existing installations.
Provision of out of hours emergency cover within the call-out rota.
Management of company vehicle and stock.
Knowledge and experience of the following systems:
Fire Alarms
Emergency Lighting
Fire Extinguishers (Training can be provided)
Knowledge of Intruder alarms or other security disciplines would be advantageous but not essential.
