Veterinary Receptionist – Part-Time
20 hours per week | 1 in 4 Saturdays | Independent Veterinary Practice
We are looking for a friendly and organised Veterinary Receptionist to join the team at Jacqui Paterson Veterinary Surgery.
We are a proudly independent veterinary practice with three sites across the Stockton and Middlesbrough area:
- Hartburn – TS18 5LE
- Preston Farm – TS18 3TT
- Nunthorpe – TS7 0AP
This is a multi-site position, so you will work across all three of our practices as required.
About us
Being independent is an important part of who we are. We have a close and supportive team who work together across our three practices to provide a high standard of care to our patients and clients.
Our receptionists are an important part of that team. They are often the first person a client speaks to and play a key role in keeping our practices running smoothly.
The role
As a Veterinary Receptionist, your day will be varied and will include:
- Welcoming clients and their pets to the practice
- Answering incoming telephone calls
- Booking and managing appointments
- Responding to client enquiries
- Taking payments and carrying out general reception duties
- Using our Practice Management System (PMS) to maintain client and patient information
- Communicating with our veterinary and nursing teams
- General administrative duties
- Helping to ensure clients receive a friendly and professional service
Veterinary experience is helpful but not essential, as onsite training will be provided.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is friendly, confident and comfortable working in a busy environment.
Ideally, you will have:
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Previous experience dealing with customers or clients by telephone
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Good general IT and computer skills
- The confidence to learn and use our veterinary Practice Management System
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work well as part of a close team
- A professional and compassionate approach when dealing with clients
As the position involves working across our three practices, the ability to travel between Hartburn, Preston Farm and Nunthorpe is essential.
Hours
This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week.
The role also includes Saturday morning cover on a 1-in-4 rota.
