Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our vibrant hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for excellent service, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service standards. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and delivering an exceptional experience for our guests. Previous management and supervising experience in restaurant or bar settings are essential, alongside a background in food production, cooking, serving, and culinary arts. A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to team leadership are vital to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and high standards of customer satisfaction
- Supervise and motivate team members, including bartenders and support staff, fostering a positive working environment
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage in accordance with food safety standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Assist in food preparation and service when necessary, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods
- Monitor quality control of beverages and food items served to guests
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to maintain guest satisfaction
- Implement training programmes for new staff and ongoing development for existing team members
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, inventory, and staff schedules
- Uphold the organisation’s policies on responsible alcohol service
Skills
- Proven management or supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food production, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience in serving beverages and understanding of bar operations, including barista experience preferred
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and guests
- Knowledge of health regulations related to food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours while maintaining professionalism
- Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service with a friendly demeanour
