H&K Workforce Ltd is recruiting on behalf of an established organisation seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and compliant operation of its premises in South West London.
This is a hands-on management position covering day-to-day facilities operations, planned and reactive maintenance, contractor performance, health and safety, compliance and the consistent delivery of workplace services.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation, maintenance and security of the premises.
- Coordinate planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
- Manage external contractors and service providers.
- Monitor service levels, contractor performance and agreed KPIs.
- Oversee relevant hard and soft facilities-management services.
- Maintain accurate compliance, maintenance and contractor records.
- Support fire safety, risk assessments and health-and-safety procedures.
- Ensure statutory inspections and servicing are completed when required.
- Manage facilities budgets, purchase orders and expenditure.
- Identify opportunities to improve service quality and control costs.
- Respond appropriately to building incidents and urgent maintenance issues.
- Maintain professional relationships with employees, visitors, suppliers and senior stakeholders.
- Support refurbishment, relocation or facilities-improvement projects where required.
Essential experience
- Previous experience working as a Facilities Manager, Building Manager, Estates Manager or in a comparable position.
- Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance services.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety and facilities compliance.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and respond calmly to operational problems.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Confidence maintaining records, reports and facilities documentation.
- Ability to work on-site in South West London.
Desirable experience
- Experience managing both hard and soft FM services.
- IWFM, IOSH, NEBOSH or another relevant qualification.
- Experience using a CAFM or facilities helpdesk system.
- Experience managing budgets, projects or multiple suppliers.
- Knowledge of fire safety, building compliance and planned maintenance.
Package
- Salary of £45,000–£52,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Permanent, full-time position.
