Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis, working during the day shift. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality support to residents or clients in care home or home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, promoting independence whenever possible
- Support the development and implementation of personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences
- Maintain clear and open communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Monitor health conditions and report any changes or concerns promptly to senior staff or healthcare providers
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines and safety procedures
- Document care activities accurately using IT systems and ensure all records are up-to-date and compliant with regulations
- Drive or assist with transportation needs for appointments or outings when required, ensuring safety at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a care home environment or providing home care services is preferred
- Valid driving license and ability to drive if required for transportation duties
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety protocols, and relevant legislation in healthcare settings
- Strong IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative and independence
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others
