We are seeking dedicated and experienced General Practitioners (GPs) to join our Enhanced Access Primary Care Service, with opportunities available on both a contracted and bank basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care during extended hours.
You will play a key role in providing safe, efficient, and effective clinical services, ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
Location: Blossom Health, Havant & The Oaks, Waterlooville (alternating weeks)
Contract Type: Contracted and Bank opportunities available
Hours: We are recruiting for cover to support service delivery during the following hours:
Monday to Friday: 18:00 – 21:00
Saturday: 09:00 – 17:00
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Deliver high standards of clinical care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of primary care presentations
- Request and interpret appropriate investigations (e.g. blood tests, imaging)
- Develop and implement management plans and make referrals to secondary care when required
- Provide emergency care when necessary, prior to patient transfer
- Ensure accurate clinical coding to support QOF, LCS, DES, and CQUIN frameworks
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Nurses, Paramedics, and Healthcare Assistants
Collaboration & Communication
- Build strong working relationships across primary care, secondary care, and wider healthcare services
- Engage with Patient Participation Groups and stakeholders
- Support colleagues through clinical advice and shared decision-making
Service Development & Governance
- Contribute to service improvement and clinical governance initiatives
- Participate in audits, training, significant event reviews, and quality improvement activities
- Support education and development of clinical staff, including GP registrars
- Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and mandatory training
About You
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified GP with MRCGP (or equivalent experience)
- Current GMC registration and inclusion on the NHS Performers List (no restrictions)
- Experience in primary care and/or urgent care settings
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of QOF, LCS, DES, and CQUIN frameworks
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
- Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check
- Authorised to work in the EEA/UK
Desirable
- Experience using the EMIS clinical system
