Residential Conveyancing Paralegal - (North Manchester)
Salary: £26,000–£30,000
Location: North Manchester — office-based
Residential Conveyancing Paralegal, North Manchester. £26,000–£30,000 with genuine development support, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and birthday off.
If you’re already supporting a residential conveyancing team but want your next move to actually take you somewhere, this role offers more than another assistant position.
Our client is an established law practice looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancing Paralegal to provide hands-on support across the conveyancing process. Crucially, there is evidence of the firm supporting people who want to develop their legal careers through further training and apprenticeship routes.
You’ll join a relatively small office where you can get on with your work without unnecessary interference, while providing meaningful support to experienced conveyancers.
What’s different about this role
- Development is actively supported. The practice supports ongoing training and development, including apprenticeship routes, giving you scope to build on your conveyancing experience rather than remaining indefinitely in the same support position.
- You’ll get broad exposure to residential conveyancing. Rather than being restricted to one repetitive task, you’ll assist across different stages of transactions, including file opening, client documentation, searches, chasing matters and post-completion work.
- There’s room to work with autonomy. Once you know what you’re doing and your work is being handled, the working approach is relatively hands-off. That can suit an experienced paralegal who doesn’t want to be micromanaged.
- Your support has a clear purpose. You’ll be helping conveyancers manage active residential property caseloads, making this a substantive conveyancing support role rather than purely general administration.
- You’ll work in a smaller office setting. For someone who prefers working closely with the people they support rather than disappearing into a large department, the team structure may be a good fit.
What’s in it for you
- £26,000–£30,000 salary, depending on experience
- 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- Birthday leave
- Workplace pension scheme
- Support for ongoing training and development
- Support for relevant apprenticeship routes
- Primarily office-based working
- Good public transport links
The Work
You’ll provide day-to-day assistance to residential conveyancing fee earners, including:
- Opening files and preparing initial client documentation
- Ordering and dealing with property searches
- Chasing clients and other parties to help transactions progress
- Assisting with post-completion and registration work
- Supporting residential conveyancing matters across a broad range of transactions, including new-build work
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in residential conveyancing or conveyancing support
- Enough practical experience to contribute without needing to learn the conveyancing process from scratch
- Experience supporting residential property transactions across multiple stages
- Confidence handling searches, client documentation, chasing and general file progression
- A desire to continue developing your residential conveyancing knowledge and career
The Culture
This is a relatively small office with a less hierarchical working style. Experienced people are trusted to get on with their work, while training and further development are supported for those who want to progress. It could particularly suit someone who wants autonomy day to day without sacrificing opportunities to develop their legal career.
