VARIABLE HOURS - SEASONAL DELIVERY DRIVER
Role Overview:
We are looking for a confident, personable, reliable and flexible Seasonal Delivery Driver to join our team.
The role mainly involves delivering firewood in bulk bags and loose-tipped loads using Transit-sized tipper vehicles, including vehicles fitted with a small Hi-Ab crane.
Some deliveries may also involve manually handling smaller sacks weighing approximately 10–12kg.
You will normally start from our office outside Carnoustie and occasionally from our processing yard outside Arbroath, so your own transport, or a reliable means of getting to these rural locations, is essential.
Hours & Duration:
This is a temporary position for approximately three months, from September to November, providing cover during a period of staff absence.
The role is offered on a flexible, as-and-when-required basis, with around 20–30 hours of work expected to be available in a typical week, depending on customer demand.
During particularly busy periods, additional hours may be available, so we are looking for someone who can offer a reasonable degree of flexibility.
Working days may vary from week to week depending on workload, although wherever possible we will try to agree and plan working days well in advance.
The position may suit someone looking for temporary seasonal work, flexible part-time hours or additional work over the autumn period.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering firewood using Transit-sized tipper vehicles
- Operating a small Hi-Ab crane (training provided)
- Manually handling smaller loads where required
- Assisting with packing, preparation and general yard duties when needed
- Providing a friendly and professional service to customers
- Carrying out deliveries safely and efficiently
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Over 25 (essential for insurance purposes)
- Confident and competent driver (essential)
- Experience driving tipper vehicles (preferred)
- Forklift licence and/or Hi-Ab experience (desirable)
- Comfortable carrying out physical and manual-handling work
- Able to work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Firewood, agricultural, delivery or yard experience would be beneficial but is not essential
- Training will be provided
Contract
Temporary seasonal position - approximately September to November
Initial three-month term with the possibility of extension depending on business requirements.
