Care Assistant to Young Adult at home - Dartford
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in someone's life? We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Assistant to provide exceptional care to a young individual with a Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2.
A Clean Automatic driving licence is required for this role, as you will be driving our client's adapted vehicle.
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Dartford
Duration: Permanent
Hours: 2-hour shift (8:00 pm - 10:00 pm) Wednesdays + 6-hour shifts (12:30 pm -6:30 pm) Thursdays and Fridays + 7-hour shift (11:00 am to 6:00 pm) Saturdays + potential for additional ad hoc hours
Rates: £14 per hour
About our client:
Our client is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support her with personal, social and domestic needs.
Our client has Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2, which has profoundly weakened her voluntary muscles, resulting in being unable to weight-bear. As a result, she is a full-time powered wheelchair user, her respiratory system is compromised and the majority of her nutrition is met via a gastrostomy.
Our client has graduated from university in 2022 with a master’s in chemistry 1st class honours. She is now working as a medical writer.
She lives at home with my Mum, Dad, and dog. She loves being outdoors and spend a lot of her free time visiting National Trust parks and zoos, as she is also very interested in animal/wildlife conservation and climate change. She is a massive Disney, Disney Parks and musical theatre fan! She also enjoys music, her favourite artists being The Script, McFly and Taylor Swift. Our client enjoys baking, crochet and crafting using my smart cutting machine. She also enjoys shopping and going to the cinema.
She needs her PAs to physically support me during her time outside of work and be able to drive her Motability wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Past care experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
