Namma Chicken is a new fried chicken takeaway opening on Stockport Road in Ardwick, Manchester.
We are looking for an experienced Takeaway Fryer / Cook to take responsibility for preparing and cooking food during service.
This is a hands-on kitchen role and would suit someone who has previously worked in a busy fried chicken shop, takeaway, fast-food restaurant or similar environment.
Main responsibilities
- Preparing and frying chicken, wings, strips and fries to a consistent standard
- Cooking and assembling burgers, wraps and other menu items
- Managing the fryer and cooking station during busy periods
- Following portion sizes, recipes and cooking procedures
- Monitoring cooking times and food temperatures
- Preparing food before and during service
- Keeping the kitchen and cooking stations clean and organised
- Following food hygiene and cross-contamination procedures
- Rotating and storing ingredients correctly
- Restocking the cooking station during service
- Helping pack orders when required
- Completing end-of-shift kitchen cleaning
What we're looking for
Previous takeaway, fried chicken or fast-food kitchen experience is strongly preferred.
You should be:
- Confident working with commercial fryers
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced takeaway environment
- Able to work quickly without sacrificing food quality
- Reliable and punctual
- Clean and organised
- Able to follow recipes and portion standards consistently
- Comfortable working independently at the cooking station
- Available for evening and weekend shifts
- Able to reliably travel home after late-night shifts
Some shifts may finish after 2am, so applicants must have reliable transport arrangements for late finishes.
Food hygiene training is desirable, although further training can be provided.
Pay
£12.71 per hour
Higher pay may be considered for an applicant with particularly strong relevant experience.
