Job Purpose
The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for leading the safe, effective and compliant delivery of medicines management across Central Health London. The post holder will ensure that all medicines are prescribed, clinically screened, dispensed, supplied, stored and monitored in accordance with current legislation, national guidance, professional standards and Central Health London policies.
Working collaboratively with GPs, consultants and the wider clinical team, the Clinical Pharmacist will provide expert pharmaceutical advice, support medicines optimisation, and ensure patients receive appropriate counselling and clear explanations regarding their medicines to promote safe and effective use.
The post holder will act as the clinical lead for medicines governance, supporting compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001, and other relevant legislation and best practice guidance. They will oversee the implementation and ongoing management of Controlled Drugs processes, ensuring robust governance, audit, record-keeping and regulatory compliance throughout the organisation.
The Clinical Pharmacist will also lead the development and continuous improvement of medicines-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), undertake medicines audits, investigate medicines incidents, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and support the organisation's readiness for CQC inspection. Through effective leadership and collaboration, the role will help ensure that medicines management across Central Health London remains safe, efficient, patient-focused and aligned with the organisation's commitment to delivering outstanding private healthcare.
Position Overview
The Clinical Pharmacist will provide clinical leadership for medicines management, clinically review prescriptions, oversee dispensing processes, supervise dispensing staff, advise clinicians on medicines, and ensure compliance with legal, professional and CQC requirements.
Pay: £40,858.18-£68,159.87 per year
