About the Role:
As a Finance Monitoring Officer, you will play a vital role in monitoring and managing the compliance of direct payment accounts. Your work will help safeguard public funds and ensure clients are meeting the agreed terms of their care arrangements. You will also be responsible for engaging in peer support initiatives, leading team meetings, and working independently to manage a varied workload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and review direct payment accounts to ensure appropriate use of funds.
- Liaise with service users, families, and care providers to gather supporting documentation.
- Provide support and guidance to service users to help them understand their responsibilities.
- Work closely with finance and payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Carry out all service reviews in line with policy and regulatory expectations.
- Chase and track client contributions, ensuring timely payments.
- Confidently lead peer support sessions and team meetings, encouraging collaboration and best practice.
- Manage your own workload effectively, demonstrating initiative and strong organisational skills.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in compliance, audit, or financial monitoring (preferably in health, social care, or local government).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
- Able to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant systems.
- Knowledge of Direct Payments and personal budgets (desirable but not essential).
- Confidence to lead meetings and actively contribute to a culture of learning and improvement.
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
