Position: Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Across Leicester and Leicestershire
Hours:
- 20 per week across 4 weekdays -We do not offer evening or night shifts
Salary:
£13.08 per hour
About the Role:
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will work one-to-one with Service Users in our supported housing schemes, or in their own homes, supporting them to:
- Shop for, plan and prepare meals.
- Clean, cook and do laundry.
- Develop financial management skills.
- Maintain / improve their physical health.
- Build their confidence and self-esteem.
- Develop social links outside their home.
The role will also include
- being part of, and occasionally leading, group activities, trips and other opportunities that add value to the lives of Service Users
- as required - supporting weekly drop-in sessions which are open to both those living in NH&S scheme and the wider community, ensuring they provide a welcoming and inclusive environment.
No personal care is involved.

About you:
We are looking for committed individuals who are driven by a desire to make real difference to the lives of adults living with mental health conditions with:
- A minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience and / or a minimum of level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or similar related subject
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude, and a willingness to actively support residents with daily living tasks.
- A warm and empathic approach
- The ability to listen in an active and non-judgemental manner
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.
You will also need to be reliable and have access to your own transport that ensures swift and smooth transitions between locations in and around Leicester City and Leicestershire (55p per mile paid for use of vehicle). A full person specification is available on our website.
