Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities and equipment. This role requires a versatile individual with strong technical expertise, leadership qualities, and excellent customer service skills. The Maintenance Person will play a vital part in maintaining safety standards, reducing downtime, and supporting operational efficiency across our organisation.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and facilities to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Operate and programme programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise equipment performance.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment components.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
- Supervise junior team members or contractors during maintenance tasks, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Lead small teams during complex repairs or projects, demonstrating leadership and organisational skills.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
Experience
- Proven experience in maintenance roles within industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge including familiarity with machinery components, welding techniques, and mechanical repairs.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and manuals accurately.
- Supervising or leadership experience is advantageous for guiding team members effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate tasks clearly with team members and management.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to respond professionally to internal requests for maintenance support.
