We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Development Worker to join our dedicated team. In this rewarding role, you'll work with adults with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries (ABI), and other complex needs, delivering engaging, person-centred support both in the community and at our organised sites across the county.
Every day is different. You'll help individuals build confidence, develop new skills, explore interests, and achieve greater independence through meaningful activities and tailored support.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Development Worker, you will:
- Deliver engaging one-to-one and group sessions tailored to individual needs.
- Support service users to achieve their Personal Development Plan (PDP) goals.
- Promote independence, confidence, wellbeing, and social inclusion.
- Follow care plans, risk assessments, and organisational policies to ensure safe, high quality support.
- Build positive, professional relationships with service users, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate daily records, reports, and timesheets.
- Monitor and report on service users' wellbeing while following safeguarding and confidentiality procedures.
- Work alongside the wider team to ensure activities are well planned, organised, and delivered.
- Provide emergency cover when required and contribute to a flexible, supportive team environment.
- Ensure vehicles and working environments are maintained to a high standard.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:

- A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable, organised, and committed to delivering high quality care.
- Able to work independently while also being a supportive team player.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in different environments with a variety of individuals.
- Calm under pressure and able to respond sensitively to individual needs.
- Flexible to work evenings and weekends when required.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own vehicle.
- An enhanced DBS check will be completed upon employment.
- Ability to use email regularly to receive rotas, updates, and company communications.
Desirable
- At least one year's experience working within the health and social care sector.
- QCF Level 2 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, acquired brain injuries (ABI), or complex needs.
