Painter & Decorator – Damp & Mould Specialist
Location: Field-based (Across Greater London)
Position: Full-Time
Salary: £18.00 per hour
The Role
Are you a skilled Painter & Decorator who understands that a flawless finish starts with fixing the underlying problem?
We are seeking a Painter & Decorator – Damp & Mould Specialist to handle residential properties across London. Unlike standard decorating roles, this position is tailored for a trade professional who understands damp and mould, knows how to properly treat it, and can deliver the clean, high-quality finish required to restore a home.
This is a mobile, full-time role perfect for a tradesperson who takes pride in diagnostic preparation as much as the final brushstroke.
Key Responsibilities
- Remediation & Treatment: Thoroughly cleaning, treating, and neutralizing mould and damp-affected surfaces in domestic properties.
- Specialist Preparation & Stain Blocking: Applying high-quality stain-blocking primers and anti-mould coatings to ensure the problem does not bleed back through.
- Minimal Decorative Reinstatement: Carrying out localized painting and minor decorating tasks to seamlessly blend treated areas back into the rest of the room.
- Safety & PPE Compliance: Strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols is required at all times to safely handle remediation chemicals and spores.
- Resident Relations: Working respectfully inside occupied homes, keeping the workspace clean, and communicating clearly with residents.
Requirements
- Trade Background: Proven experience in painting and decorating, with a solid, practical understanding of how to treat damp and mould surfaces.
- Driving License & Vehicle: A valid UK Driving License and your own reliable vehicle to transport yourself and your tools to various residential sites across London.
- Right to Work: Current legal right to work in the UK.
- Safety First: A strict commitment to health and safety protocols and the mandatory use of PPE.
Why This Role?
Instead of just painting over a problem, you will be the specialist who fixes it properly. This role offers the stability of full-time hours, zero seasonal winter slowdowns, and a competitive hourly rate for a decorator who brings specialised remediation knowledge to the team.
Pay: £18.00 per hour
