We are currently looking for a highly organised and commercially minded Purchasing Coordinator to join our Head Office Purchasing team in Gateshead.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Group's energy efficiency initiatives, EV charging infrastructure and wider purchasing activities. You'll work closely with suppliers and dealership teams across the business to drive operational improvements, deliver cost savings and ensure excellent service delivery.
Reporting into the Purchasing team, you will coordinate the implementation and ongoing performance of the Group's Building Management System (BMS) optimisation technology, helping maximise energy savings and return on investment across our dealership network.
Alongside this, you will support the day-to-day operation of our EV charging helpdesk, liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently and maintain high levels of charging point availability. The role will also provide support across broader purchasing activities, supplier management and contract administration.
Building Management System (BMS) Coordination
- Coordinate the rollout and implementation of BMS optimisation systems across the Group.
- Manage deployment schedules to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitor energy savings, system performance and return on investment.
- Work closely with suppliers and dealerships to resolve issues and optimise performance.
- Analyse data to identify trends, efficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Escalate and manage underperforming systems to ensure timely resolution.
EV Charging Helpdesk Support
- Support the day-to-day operation of the Group's EV charging helpdesk.
- Coordinate with suppliers and maintenance providers to ensure faults are resolved quickly.
- Track charging point availability, performance and issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting to support continuous improvement.
- Assist with the ongoing expansion and development of EV charging infrastructure.
Supplier & Purchasing Support
- Support supplier management activities across key purchasing categories.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with contract administration, supplier performance monitoring and commercial reviews.
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and purchasing projects across the Group.
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce regular reports on energy savings, BMS performance and EV charging operations.
- Analyse data to identify efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities.
- Support benchmarking and value-for-money assessments across supplier categories.
To be successful in this role, you will be highly organised, analytical and confident working with data. You will enjoy building relationships, solving problems and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You will ideally have:
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- A commercial mindset with an interest in cost management and operational performance.
- The ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external suppliers.
