About our team
The Team is based at HMP Manchester and have a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience. They are a diverse team creating a culture of wellbeing and togetherness. The team is made up of various roles such as Administrator, Support workers, Recovery Practitioners, Nurses, Care Coordinators, Therapists and Managers. The team is welcoming and supportive, and they focus on finding the path that is right for the individual whilst delivering innovative and specialist addiction services.

As a Recovery Practitioner within Delphi’s Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service in HMP Manchester, you will work collaboratively with the integrated team to provide clinical and psychosocial support to individuals experiencing issues with Drugs and Alcohol in a secure setting.
What you'll be doing
As a Recovery Practitioner within Delphi’s Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service in HMP Manchester, you will work collaboratively with the integrated team to provide clinical and psychosocial support to individuals experiencing issues with Drugs and Alcohol in a secure setting.
This is a really rewarding opportunity where you will be able to provide support to individuals though their recovery journeys, enabling real change. Responsibilities will include. 1:1 intervention, group work delivery, 2nd signing duties, assessments, referrals, carrying out VDTS, MDT meetings and overall support of their desire for change. You will work closely with the other Recovery practitioners, Recovery Nurses, Support workers, administrators, Lead Nurse and Care Coordinators. This is an exciting and rewarding role where you’ll be able to positively impact people’s future, improving their prospects and their quality of life.
As a Recovery Practitioner you will need to be able to work independently and within a team, within a prison environment. Ensuring to deliver the best possible outcomes for those our care. You will work closely with other services to ensure clients are able to achieve their recovery goals, positive outcomes and community re-integration, ensuring that individuals are supported and motivated throughout their recovery journey.
In undertaking this role, you will be expected to behave in a way that is consistent with and actively supports the organisations values.
You will be based at HMP Manchester. Your hours of work would be 35 hours per week and includes weekend and bank holiday working on a rota basis. The hours for this role are 7.30am-3.30pm.

What We’re Looking For
- The ability to complete substance misuse assessment on clients. To support and engage clients through Recovery Plans.
- The ability to facilitate 1:1 sessions and group sessions supporting their overall goal.
- Complete your admin duties and ensure all documentation is completed effectively and in a timely manner.
- The ability to engage with challenging individuals and build trusting relationships - patience and resilience will be key!
- A passion for supporting people, providing exceptional care.
- A flexible and innovative approach to service delivery.
- Experience of working in a team with appropriate supervision in a multidisciplinary service.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal sills.
- To successfully gain HMP security vetting including CTC clearance.
