Overview
Join our friendly nursing home team as a weekend Kitchen Assistant and play your part in providing delicious, high-quality meals for older people for whom mealtimes are an important part of their day.
Duties
- Assist the lunch time cook with meal and food preparation, including chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning dishes
- Be responsible for the preparation and serving of afternoon high tea
- Maintain cleanliness
- Ensure all food safety standards are followed, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
- Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in meal quality
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant settings is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety practices
- Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety regulations
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to follow instructions carefully
Pay: £12.71 per hour
