Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Grooming Apprentice to join our team. In this role, you will support our grooming professionals in providing high-quality grooming services to pets while ensuring their safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to customer service, making every pet's grooming experience enjoyable.
Responsibilities
- Assist groomers in bathing, drying, and brushing pets to maintain their hygiene and appearance.
- Handle animals safely and gently, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process.
- Maintain a clean and organised grooming area by regularly cleaning tools, equipment, and workspaces.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and grooming services offered.
- Assist in managing appointments and scheduling for grooming sessions.
- Perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or moving equipment.
- Monitor pets for any signs of distress or health issues during grooming sessions and report concerns to the groomer.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred but not essential.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed when working with larger animals or equipment.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced groomers.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends if required.
