We are currently seeking experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support our Highways Division and keep everything running smoothly and safely. The role covers a large territory including the M4 Corridor and the top of the M25, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Suffolk, so requires the successful person to be happy travelling, flexible working days and nights, including overnight stays as required by the contract.
What you’ll do:
- Carry out electrical maintenance duties associated with the National Highways communications network infrastructure.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance of transmission stations, testing, inspection and maintenance of roadside electrical infrastructure
- Both proactive maintenance and reactive fault response
- Completion of all relevant documentation and sign off.
- Responsible for ensuring that established and potentially new customer relationships are maintained and developed by demonstrating the highest level of professionalism at all times.
- Monitor and report to line manager on progress and issues
Who you are:
This role would suit some with electrical qualifications, who enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions, happy driving to cover a wide territory, which will require overnight stays, and flexibility to work at night on occasions to complete maintenance tasks.
Key Requirements:
- 18th Edition or equivalent electrical qualification
- Ensure that any changes to the electrical maintenance processes and procedures are communicated to all the operations teams as necessary
- Able to work in outside environment on the side of motorways and major trunk roads
- To perform risk assessments and assist with creation of method statements necessary for electrical maintenance activities required on the network
- Ability to work at heights, and in confined spaces
- Happy to travel/work days & nights, with overnight stays on occasion
- Full UK Driving Licence
