As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an exceptional Head of Sales to lead our Retail Sales Department in Harlow.
This is more than a traditional sales management role. We're looking for a leader who is passionate about developing people, creating a high-performance culture and delivering an outstanding customer journey from the very first enquiry through to vehicle handover.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll take ownership of the Retail Sales Department, working closely with our Enquiry Manager and wider management team to maximise every sales opportunity while ensuring our customers receive the premium Vanwise experience.
You'll be responsible for leading and developing the sales team, driving profitability, maintaining exceptional customer service standards and creating a culture built around accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading, inspiring and developing a high-performing retail sales team.
- Coaching and mentoring Sales Executives through regular one-to-ones, call listening and performance reviews.
- Working closely with the Enquiry Manager to ensure every enquiry receives prompt follow-up and outstanding customer service.
- Ensuring every suitable customer receives a personalised CITNOW vehicle presentation.
- Second-facing every retail opportunity to maximise conversion and customer confidence.
- Driving vehicle sales performance, departmental profitability and Profit Per Unit (PPU).
- Maximising Finance & Insurance and accessory sales through compliant, customer-focused selling.
- Leading daily sales meetings and reviewing opportunities, appointments, pipeline activity and vehicle handovers.
- Producing daily performance reporting for the General Manager.
- Monitoring CRM compliance, enquiry conversion and departmental performance.
- Championing exceptional customer satisfaction and five-star online reviews.
- Working collaboratively with Preparation, Administration and Aftersales to deliver a seamless customer experience.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' Sales Management experience within the automotive sector.
- Proven experience leading successful automotive sales teams.
- Strong leadership, coaching and people development skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness with a proven ability to drive profitability.
- Experience managing Finance & Insurance performance and value-added product sales.
- Strong understanding of enquiry management and customer journey optimisation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience using CRM systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience within the van or commercial vehicle sector.
- Experience using CITNOW or similar video presentation software.
