About the Role:
We’re looking for a creative, energetic and forward-thinking Marketing Manager to lead our recruitment and engagement campaigns across adult learning, 16–18 provision and schools engagement.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves ideas, thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to use marketing to genuinely change lives. You’ll lead a team including marketing executive, community engagement executive and a marketing and event coordinator to deliver exciting campaigns that connect with prospective students, schools, employers and communities across the region.
From digital campaigns and social content to events, brand storytelling and community engagement, no two days will look the same.

The College operates across three main campuses in Stevenage and Hitchin, employing over 650 staff. With a turnover of £30m, the college provides learning opportunities to over 10,000 students each year from study programmes for 16-18 year olds and apprenticeships through to adult provision locally, regionally and nationally. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Roles and Responsibilities
Leading Creative Recruitment Campaigns
You’ll take the lead on planning and delivering engaging, audience-focused campaigns that promote Adult courses and skills programmes, 16–18 study programmes, schools’ engagement and outreach activity, community and partnership initiatives
You’ll help bring the college brand to life through bold ideas, compelling storytelling and campaigns that stand out both online and offline.
Managing and Inspiring a Team
You’ll manage and support staff within the marketing team where you will help create a positive, collaborative environment where ideas are encouraged, creativity is valued and people are supported to grow and develop.
Driving engagement and student recruitment
You’ll work closely with curriculum teams and key stakeholders, as well as utilising available and data and audience intelligence to create marketing activity that inspires prospective students and supports recruitment targets.
The marketing activity will include Digital campaigns, social media content, email marketing, PR and advertising, events and partnerships
You’ll always be thinking about how we can better connect with audiences and improve the learner journey from first enquiry through to enrolment.
Leading brand and reputation
You’ll oversee engaging content across the website, social media channels, paid campaigns, email communications and video and digital content and press activity.
You’ll use data, insight and creativity to evaluate marketing activity and provide appropriate data to continually improve campaign performance and audience engagement while ensuring everything reflects the college’s values and voice.
You will overseeing copywriting across the group, including writing and quality checking content. This will ensure consistency with external comms from both the marketing channels and other external comms channels (such as student communication)
Building Relationships and Partnerships
This role is all about collaboration. You’ll build strong relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders and support the team to do the same where necessary. You will work with curriculum teams, employers and partners, external agencies, schools and community partners to achieve marketing outcomes.
You’ll play a key role in helping position the college as an inspiring, supportive and ambitious place to study and work.
Focussing on strategy and plans for the future
Working with the Head of Marketing you will support with key strategic plans and objectives aligned to the 5 year strategic plan. Working together to create new and evolving strategies of engagement to reach our targets.
General duties
