Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely deliveries across various locations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate different types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries. Prior warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are advantageous, contributing to smooth operations and vehicle maintenance.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including flatbed lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secured properly for transit
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or delays
- Assist in warehouse tasks when required, including inventory management and stock organisation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is essential
- Familiarity with driving different types of vehicles, particularly flatbed lorries, is preferred
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform minor repairs or maintenance
- Strong communication skills for liaising with team members and clients effectively
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence is mandatory
- Experience with delivery driver roles involving logistics coordination and route planning is highly desirable
Experience isn't essential but preferred!
We have positions for 3.5t drivers and also HGV drivers!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £36,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
