Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic client in the heart of Shepton Mallet. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within our facility. Your expertise will ensure efficient factory operations, accurate inventory management, and timely shipping and receiving processes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to handle materials with precision and care
- Load and unload shipments efficiently, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using warehouse management systems
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform minor repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, verifying shipments against documentation for accuracy
- Support factory by stacking, storing, and retrieving materials as directed
- Follow safety protocols diligently to create a secure working environment for all team members
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory movements
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform equipment repairs or troubleshooting as needed
- Strong materials handling skills with the ability to lift heavy loads safely
- Experience in shipping and receiving processes, including load securing and documentation verification
- Good math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying quantities accurately
