Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems across various domestic and commercial settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with schematics, and leadership qualities to oversee projects effectively. Duties
- Install, service, and repair air conditioning units and systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installation and troubleshooting.
- Conduct routine maintenance to optimise system performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Diagnose faults within HVAC systems using specialised tools and techniques, then execute effective repairs promptly.
- Lead maintenance teams or subcontractors during large-scale installation or repair projects, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
- Assist in the planning and construction of new HVAC systems, including site assessments and system design considerations.
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out, including parts used and time spent on each task.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in air conditioning installation, maintenance, and repair within domestic or commercial environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics confidently.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience supervising or guiding team members or contractors.
- Knowledge of equipment repair techniques specific to HVAC systems.
- Construction experience is highly desirable, particularly in building services or similar sectors.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex issues.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent are preferred.
- Valid UK driving licence is essential.
