Role Overview
We’re looking for a dedicated, full‑time Hospitality/Catering Cook to join our café/bistro team. This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and perfect for someone who loves fresh food, great service, and creating dishes that make customers feel welcome. You’ll prepare daily menu items, support catering orders, and help maintain a smooth, organised kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook café/bistro menu items to a consistent, high standard
- Take a lead role in the kitchen and support/ Manage other kitchen staff.
- Support production for catering orders, buffets, events, and specials
- Maintain excellent food presentation, portion control, and quality
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and fully stocked throughout service
- Assist with menu prep: chopping, batching, baking, roasting, sauces, etc
- Work closely with front‑of‑house to ensure smooth service and quick turnaround
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or ordering needs
- Uphold a friendly, positive atmosphere that reflects our café’s values
- Adapt to daily changes — specials, catering runs, busy periods, and seasonal menus
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a café, bistro, catering kitchen, or hospitality environment
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team
- Comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment
- Good communication and time‑management skills
- Passion for fresh food, customer satisfaction, and consistent quality
