Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and qualified Pipe Layers / Groundworkers / Groundwork Gangs to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing groundworks in various civil engineering projects. This role requires a strong understanding of site safety, technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the construction industry while contributing to vital infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Installation of underground pipelines and civil engineering elements according to project specifications and safety standards
- Prepare ground surfaces by excavating, levelling, and compacting soil or other materials
- Operate machinery such as excavators and other heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment to assist with installation tasks
- Assist with welding, cutting, and joining pipes where necessary
- Conduct inspections of installed pipelines to ensure quality and compliance with regulations
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and ensure smooth workflow
Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators, power tools, and hand tools in a construction environment
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to pipe laying and groundworks
- Electrical experience or understanding of electrical systems is advantageous
- Welding skills for pipe joining or repair tasks
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
Tickets
- CSCS / CPCS / NPORS Tickets are required
- EUSR Card for Cat 1 Location of Underground Services would be recommended
- Confined Space (Medium Risk) Qualification
