Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to join our care team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to senior care. This role involves supervising care staff, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of resident wellbeing within a care home environment. The Senior Carer will also be responsible for supporting residents’ daily needs while maintaining a safe and friendly atmosphere.
Duties
- Supervise and support junior care staff to deliver high-quality care services
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and nutrition
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals as necessary
- Foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence for residents
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities using IT systems
- Support residents’ emotional and social needs through engaging activities and companionship
- Assist with driving duties where required, ensuring safe transportation for residents
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior or residential care settings, preferably within a care home environment
- Supervising or leadership experience in a caregiving role is essential
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety protocols, and IT systems utilised in care settings
- Valid driving licence with experience in transporting residents safely when needed
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in senior care and improving quality of life for residents
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate leadership qualities
- Organised approach to managing multiple responsibilities whilst maintaining attention to detail
Pay: £13.95 per hour
