This is a unique career development opportunity offering hands-on experience as a Safety professional at both departmental and divisional levels. While carrying out valuable department-based work that directly supports our world-leading teaching and research, you will also help the MPLS Divisional team shape policy and improve compliance, conduct safety audits and carry out investigations and provide accurate, balanced advice to Divisional leadership.
A programme of work experience, shadowing and formal training will be created with you to develop key areas to aid your long-term career progression.
You will already have considerable experience working in a research environment, either in a Safety role and/or managing a research lab. The NEBOSH General Certificate is preferred but alternative, equivalent qualifications or experience will be considered. Experience and good awareness of safe practices, a curiosity-driven approach to potential hazards, and the ability to learn at pace are essential.
