Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes or home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support care planning and implement individualised care plans in accordance with organisational guidelines
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents’ quality of life
- Monitor and report any changes in health or behaviour to senior staff promptly
- Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Support the organisation of appointments and transportation if required, including driving clients when necessary
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure cohesive care delivery
Requirements
- Experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Driving licence is preferred for roles involving client transportation
- Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Proficiency in IT systems used for record keeping and communication within healthcare settings
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
